A year before Atlanta’s Alternative station, WNNX “99X” would replace Power 99, WAPW was still a hot CHR pulling decent numbers, and killing off competitors WZGC “Z93″ and WQXI-FM 94-Q in the process.

Here’s a look at the morning show on Power 99, known as The Breakfast Club.

    Thanks for putting this up. At the time this was recorded, Power 99 was slowly migrating back toward Mainstream CHR after a brief period where they were leaning heavily toward Dance, but nevertheless it was still one of the hottest CHR’s in the country at that time, hands down. Hopefully you’ll have a chance to put up the rest of this composite where we can hear what the rest of the day sounded like sometime in the near future. *hint hint* :>)
