Going way back to the early days of Top 40 radio, a young Bobby Mitchell is heard here on San Francisco’s earliest hit station. This is where Bill Drake (yep, THE Bill Drake who pioneered the Boss format) honed his skills. Strangely enough, Drake would cross over and consult crosstown 610 KFRC later that year and blow KYA out of the water!

Starts out with a full newscast, then Mitchell plays the hits for the Bay area.

    As not one but TWO more network sports talk stations took to the air in my market this week, I really long for the day when radio tried to do more than one thing well at a time.
