Promo: The Great Rat Roundup– KNUS Dallas | 1979

One of the great things about classic Top 40 radio was the creative contests that stations came up with. Stations would do anything to get listeners, especially around ratings period. One such promotion was this, “The Great Rat Roundup”. KNUS “K-News 99″ was an intense station! High energy, great music and wonderful contests.

Listen as the announcer spells out how the contest works. And the promo is set to music from the soundtrack of the British TV series, “Space 1999″, which debuted in 1979. Frankly, I was surprised at the creativity that went into this, though I shouldn’t have been. KNUS was a fantastic radio station!
