Our first offering from Phoenix. KZZP was and is a monster CHR, and Clarke Ingram sounds really young here. It’s a show that moves along lightning fast, with lots of high energy elements that 80s CHR was known for.

I miss the station!!!!! That just totally took me right back there. You were awesome Clark, you and those shuffeling papers
Actually, I was 29 at the time of that aircheck, but I always did sound younger than my age. KZZP was probably the height of my screaming teen idol-dom. Thanks for remembering.
AWESOME aircheck!
Clarke Ingram, in my opinion, one of the best night jocks ever!!!
I was an intern at KRQ in Tucson, Az in 1988, Clarke Ingram was my PD. He taught me everything I know, he gave me my break in radio and I haven’t stopped since.

I knew Clarke for many years and he used to send me these aircheck tapes personally. I learned so much from them. Clarke was and still is a major influence on my on-air style. Thanks for everything, Clarke. Hope you are well wherever you are!
Amazing! Thanks for sharing, wished I lived in an area where I could listen live!
I’ve had the opportunity to know Clarke since 1978 when we used to hang out at a little radio station at Point Park College (University). We used to sit around and perfect “Crinkling Paper”. He got it right. Me, I just got newspaper print all over my hands. (Insert Laugh Here) And so the story goes. Don’t listen to your consultant. Crinkle paper and you’ll be someone. Clarke, you’re the best.
