Your webmaster heard from a truly great jock back around Easter Weekend and I’d like to share some of it with you, along with a great aircheck from him at Q-106 San Diego from the golden days of 80s CHR!

JoJo Kincaid is featured elsewhere on this site, doing his thing on WVBF Framingham/Boston from 1978. Strangely enough, it appears he didn’t know the aircheck even existed and got a chance to remember some good times in Boston. JoJo writes:

Thanks for the link to VBF in ’78! I don’t have a lot of stuff from that era…this is fabulous. I’ll snag it with Cool Edit and do a little EQing and speed adjustment…should work great!

Also, a boatload of thanks for your very kind comments. Those were great days at F-105 (don’t forget what the “F” stands for) even though my welcoming present to Boston was the Blizzard of ’78! I have a picture taken in the mid 90′s of Mighty Mike, Pete Falconi, The Doctor and myself which hangs proudly in the radio shack here.

I’ve attached some JoJo radio from San Diego for your collection. Hope you have fun with it. I sure did!!

Now, there’s more to this story than just JoJo sending us a copy of this aircheck. The copy he sent in, he recorded from his computer off a recording made by Les Durant which was posted at another website.. Les wrote to say that HE recorded this aircheck while living in Ramona. Les was kind enough to send in the high-quality original copy.
