After the ill-fated “Jack-FM” format crashed and burned, CBS brass woke up to the fact that blowing up the personality-heavy Oldies format on 101.1 FM probably wasn’t the wisest thing.

Listen now as All News WCBS 880 interviews Cousin Bruce Morrow and Bob Shannon about the return of CBS-FM! Narrated by your webmaster, this includes a great WCBS-FM jingle montage at the end you won’t want to miss!

Nice to have you back again. It is great listening again. Enjoying it! The Auto button in the car is set to 101.1! Welcome Back!

  4. to leave out the 50s where rock n roll started is like leaving out george washington and the revolutionary war. reminisce playes in front of and estimated 40 thousand fans a year here in nj we were the last group on the doo wop shop before cbsfm went to the new format,we find our fans disappointed in what cbs calls the oldies , they are leaving out a large group listeners who have the time and money to spend, again another bad business decision on their part,

It’s been almost a year that CBS-FM is back. Grew up on this station, and now listening on the webstream from London where I now live. The station I love is back – hopefully for good this time. I wish Brucie would reconsider…

It would be nice to hear a few more pre-1964 songs than they play…maybe they’ll listen even further. Welcome back CBS-FM – there is a God!

And forgot to say that exactly three years ago today that CBS Radio “blew it” – as Mayor Kcoh put it! Glad JACK-FM hit the road.

I’m a frequent guest at airchexx.com. Though I live in west Virginia, I’m glad CBS-FM went back to playing oldies, classic hits, heritage music; whatever one wishes to call it. To paraphrase Billy Joel, “It’s still oldies to me.” It’s so much better than contemporary music. Wonder if at some point in the future CBS-FM will play Britney Spears, Beyoncé, etc? I also felt it appropriate that they went back to oldies at 1:01 pm. Steve West did make one mistake. At 9:51, he said 7-13-07 was Thursday; in reality it was Wednesday. In closing, I really dug the jingles that closed out the last 2:42 of this ‘check.
