Elsewhere on this site, we have featured a short aircheck of WHBC-FM Canton, Ohio. After listening, you probably won’t be much impressed with it’s ultra-laid back approach. Well, now, courtesy of contributor Alan Fletcher, we have a more recent sample of WHBC-FM. We know nothing about Tom Sullivan or his career, but he sounds pretty good. Lots of ads for Independence Day stuff.

If you’d really like to hear a northeastern Ohio station that had a nice warm laid back style while still playing the hottest music. Grab some airchecks from WKKD in Akron or WQAL in Cleveland. The two best stations in the state, but WHBC always does a good job and pulls good numbers.
I’d love to hear other WMMS airchexx — for example: Kid Leo and Jeff and Ed (Flash) — Matt the Cat, Denny Sanders, Betty Korvan, Bill “BLF Bash” Freeman, Len “Boom Boom” Goldberg, Ruby Cheeks, and Dia Stein
Anybody have one?

Tom Sullivan did time at WKDD, M105 (that’s WWWM for those who don’t know), KMPC, WZKL, and WHBC-FM. His last radio gig was at WNPQ where he did mornings for a brief time.
Tom passed away just before Christmas in 2007.
I had the priviledge of working with Tom Sullivan in atlanta at WQXI 94.1fm in the late 1980s, he was truly the nicest guy all around.he was a true friend and friendly to everyone including his listeners, he will truly be missed as one good human and disc jockey.i will see you one day in Heaven Tom and we will talk about the old days .
ok the tom sullivan that i refered to in my last entry is wrong, there are 2 tom sullivans, and the tom that i knew worked in atlanta radio , i sure hope i have not caused any confusion for anybody concerned.
Hey, it’s me–Tom Sullivan in Atlanta and I am still living–thank you Lord!
