Clear Channel analyzes markets then buys up all the existing talent that might satisfy it, then puts them into a homogenized format that anybody could pull off. Could you imagine ANYbody but Robert W. Morgan and The Real Don Steele pulling off the Drake format at the flagship station of RKO General? RKO the Clear Channel of its time? Only in the back office.
