They used to make fun of southen DJ’s that had that slight ‘accent’.. But, most PD’s realized it was a ‘boon to localism and ratings’… I loved AM CHR/Top-40 from that 1970 to 1980 era (the last in the format).. Great processing and how that “Sweet-FoxOnTheRun” jumps out (like Joe Walsh does, as well), of that Mono signal… PUNCH YOU IN THE EARS AND IN THE FACE.. Great tight jingles and such… This stuff could be used in elements, today, if someone would try it in Classic Hits FM or forward motion in FM-CHR… Just try it in a smaller regional market, first… Hey? Jack-Fm came from the plains of the “Great White North”!
If you're a regular visitor, you'll find Airchexx easier to use. Check out our new features, search for your favorite dj or station, or just use the pulldown menu at the top to just browse through the hundreds of classic radio recordings on this site!
Just remember, you won't find music on these recordings, just the jingles, old commericals and the announcers (deejays and newspersons) who graced the airwaves during the time of these recordings.
