  1. Glen slingerland is the proper spelling of his name. It was AM106 who de-throwned long-time market leader CKXL.

  2. Hi There!

Thanks for the “blast from My radio past”…my
co-workers here at 660 News decided to let me
know I was also on Glen’s aircheck…kinda freaky
to hear myself from sooo long ago…yup, I’d like
to work for this kind of station again!

  3. Oh my God!!! Where did you people dig this thing up? It even takes me back. Thanks for the memory.

    Cheers,
    Slingerland

  4. This has to be Feb’ 1986, not 1985.

“Small Town” by John Cougar Mellencamp, “Lay Your Hands On Me” by Thompson Twins, “Spies Like Us” by Paul McCartney were all hits in late ’85/early ’86.

Love Canadian top 40 airchecks. If anyone has unscoped (music & spots intact) versions of ANY of the airchecks here, let me know!

  5. AM 106 was THE station of my teen years TOP 6 AT 6 AND 10 AT 10. Always a big presence at the Stampede every summer. Bitter sweet to hear this. Oh and on Saturdays they had top 40 countdown wit Kasey Kasum(sp) tjanks for the halpycmemlriez AM 106! ❤
