From the early days of Oldies 103, we have this QuickCheck – at about 5 minutes you can hear the stark difference between today’s WODS and it’s beginnings after flipping from WMRQ “Boston’s Quality Rock – a station that lasted barely 9 months (basically, the ashes of what was WHTT “HitRadio 103 FM”).
WODS began in the fall of 1986 – this aircheck is close to the one-year anniversary, at least by a month or two.

Why Can’t Wods Go back to that format, Songs form the 50 to the seventies, At least there wonldn’t be as many repeat song???????????????
That would be a good idea, but there would still be conflicts with the classic rock stations, where the Beatles and the Rolling Stones would be featured on both kind of stations in town: Oldies 103.3, WZLX (100.7, Classic Rock), and WROR (105.7, a “Classic Hits”).
Actually, the switch from WHTT to WMRQ happened in the summer of 1986, and the following year it became WODS.
