Pam is now on xm satellite radio on xm-40 on Deep Tracks…great channel, sought of what Wlir-fm was in the late ’70s. Earle Bailey is there as well,another former wlir alum.

As recently as 2002, Pam was on air at 92.5 WXTU-FM in Philly doing a showed called “Cross Trax”. I had an opportunity to email her then and thank her for the great music she payed at WLIR and WNEW. She sent me back a nice response saying how much she loved her time at WLIR. Just a real classy lady!

Don Caterson, I remember your name from Bridgeport. I went to Maplewood School, where I met Pam Merly, and then to Bassick High School. Don’t know where Pam is now.

Where is Pam nowadays? I went to high school with Pam in Bridgeport, CT and last saw her at our 10 year reunion in 1979.

I have airchecks of Pam on WLIR in Long Island from 1979, when they were still spinning freeform “progessive” rock. Also, she is something of a legend at the station I’ve worked weekends at for almost 15 years now, WPKN in Bridgeport, CT. Pam was an air personality there back in the early to mid 1970s. after working as as on air personality for wlir fm in the late 70’s pam merly joined the airstaff of wnew-fm.she was the hostess of the saturday night jam program which featured an amazing variety of music everything from reggae , soul, funk, new wave, ska, punk, and jazz music. wnew fm had not instituted a required playlist at that time , but it was gradually evolving into a broadened album oriented rock format. pam merly also had a feature on sunday night called merly’s pearl where she featured a brand new song from an up and coming artist. she also provided a prominent female presence that was missing on wnew fm, because of the departues of both allison steele and meg griffin
