After hearing the Larry Kenny aircheck and hearing Margaret on that aircheck, I dug out some of my old reel to reel tapes.Back in those days of radio if you sent in a letter to the radio station to the DJ, if you were lucky you would get back a signed photo to see what the DJ looked like! I have such a photo of Margaret you can post with the aircheck

This ‘check starts out with Margaret Jones talking to Steve O’Brien (WABC, WCBS-FM, Sirius), who was apparently in the studio but off mic.
I was involved in a internet radio station as a sidekick in 1997. I am not involved with that anymore but have radio friends in the business in Long Island. I now live in Florida. One such friend was Mike Erickson who sent a aircheck on himself which I saw posted here on your site

WOW – talk about a memory jogger – Margaret Jones on ‘YNY – and talkin about SOB!! And how can you forget Gimbel’s??
What a refreshing air talent. She sounds like the kind of woman you’d not only want to listen to on the radio, but you’d like to sit and have a cup of coffee with. Very nice. Where is Margaret Jones today?
Margaret’s retired — but never retiring — and you’re right: great to have a cuppa with. Even better, a martini. I’m the guy she sailed off into the sunset with — lucky me — and sail we did: all over the Chesapeake and all over LI Sound plus Newport, Buzzards Bay, out to Martha’s Vineyard. She’s the best foredeck(wo)man I ever met.
Glad you posted this. Makes me want to dig out her tapes from back when. Speaking of which, we still smile over the YNY Walkathon when Margaret wound up signing autographs next to Wille Mays! Quite abashed, she asked for his. Quite chivalrously, he asked for hers.

Speaking of Margaret and Steve O’Brian…I have a demo of a show they were trying to syndicate called “Dear Margaret & Steve”…solving lister letters from the man and woman points of view.
Also Margaret’s solo show called “Tidbits”.
The date of these shows are dated spring 1986. Boy do I feel old.
Anyway you can upload those tapes, Jeffrey W? I’d love to hear more of my aunt MJ.

Margaret Jones passed on July 21st. She is missed by her family, friends, and fans.

I was married to Margaret’s brother and to hear her voice…brings back many, many years ago. Thank you.
So sad to hear of Margaret’s passing. My condolences to family and friends. If anyone has tapes of her that you’d like posted, I’ll be happy to put them up on the site and you may, of course, link to them any way you like.
