Here’s a later look at KFMB-FM San Diego. When your webmaster was in San Diego in 1984, it was still called B-100. Somewhere along the line, the station ditched Top 40 and went Adult Contemporary.
On this aircheck, Frank Anthony is hosting a disco show – presumably it’s a Saturday night, but no matter. These kinds of shows were fairly common in AC radio in the 90s.
As I post this, I’m thinking how this station, even here two years prior to Telcom ‘96, sounds bland compared to it’s years as an FM Top 40/CHR (the two terms are NOT necessarilly interchangable). Still, Frank Anthony handles the show well. He’s an upbeat jock and takes lots of phone calls during his show. Enjoy!
