Contributor Alan Kabel (WZOU Boston) presents himself for our critique here in this 8 minute scope of himself on WYTZ “Z95” Chicago.
The energy level is off the scale here, on one of the tightest scopes you’ll hear anywhere!

This could certainly be described as energetic audio. An inspiring radio era.
I remember Alan well. I used to call into Z95 pretending to be “Sam from Lebenon” ad he would put me on air. Had so much fun.
This was the best station ever! I lived in Chicagoland in ’86-’87, and Z-95 was the WLS of the 80s.
Thanks Hackman! I worked there until the end and still can’t understand why they pulled the plug on this station. There hasn’t been anything in town as good since…
There hasnโt been a decent top40 station in Chicago since Z95. Nic St. John, Mark Sebastian, and Kabel were all top-notch! Such a fun station that you wanted to be a part ofโฆ a non stop party.
