From 1959 to 2005, Harry Harrison was a staple on New York City Radio. He spent 9 years on WMCA, 11 on WABC, and 25 years on CBS-FM. The final 2 years, Harry’s show was on the weekend. That’s almost 45 years on New York Radio! Not an easy feat. Given the title of “Morning Mayor,” Harry spent most of his time on the radio waking NYC every morning, with a friendly, comfortable style. While many jocks of the era are remembered for being funny, or fast talking, or outrageous, or some sort of shtick, Harry was just your friend, easing you into a new day, with the info you needed, along with some great music. -Ellis
