In 1971, 105.3 WDAS-FM changed from it’s Progressive Rock format, to a Progressive Soul format. The station played a mix of Album R&B, Jazz, Funk & Soul. They called the format Black Rock. On of the jocks from the Progressive Rock days, stayed with the station, as Music Director, and host of the station’s Sunday night Oldies show. That Jock was Harvey Holiday. Harvey stayed with WDAS-FM for about 18 years. He later moved to 98 WOGL-FM in Philly, where he spent the next 29 years playing Oldies. Holiday retired in 2018.

On this aircheck, you’ll hear Holiday, with his friend & guest, Joey Reynold. Joey is a legendary jock, who spent years on air at many radio stations, including, WKBW, WIBG, WFIL, WNBC, & WQAM. Joey is just hanging out on air with Harvey.

The quality of this rare recording is not great, but I thought it was worth sharing to hear two radio legends on air together. -Ellis
