…The All-New Imus in the Morning Program on 77 WABC, Where New York comes to talk!

Comments:

It was the most anticipated radio event of the year. Don Imus, fired from CBS & MSNBC over perceived racially insensitive comments about the Rutgers Womens Basketball team, returned to the airwaves to an excited group of listeners on 77 WABC!

Courtesy of Big Apple Airchecks - Thanks!WABC’s corporate owners, Cumulus, said they would syndicate Imus from WABC to many of their stations nationwide, starting around the first of January 2008. The first station to sign up for the nationwide broadcast was Greater Media’s WTKK 96.9 in Boston about a week later. This particular broadcast, however, while drawing national attention, was a WABC only broadcast. Today, this remains a mainly WABC New York local show.

Love him or hate him, WABC was banking that Imus would do better than the longtime morning show of Curtis & Kuby, who moved into a new time slot. Will the audience return? How was the first broadcast? Listen for yourself as we present an original recording by Matt @ Big Apple Airchecks – all four hours of Imus in the Morning, on 77 WABC!

The aircheck as a whole is four hours long; is there any way to split it up?

  2. Yes, as a matter of fact, its on my to do list. My work schedule didn’t permit me time to split it up yesterday, so I’m thinking it’ll happen this weekend.

    Patience, my friend

@Jason, Dailymotion has the entire show on their site split into six parts though they’ve taken out the musical performances by Levon Helm and Little Sammy Davis but the interviews with Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Christopher Dodd (D-CT), Presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin and married politicos Mary Matalin and James Carville are included. When all is said and done with commercials excluded it runs for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
