Jim Roberts was a name that, back in the 1980s, most anyone in Boston would recognize. He was the longtime midday host on the old 98.5 WROR, and continued on when the station moved to HotAC as Mix 98.5. Roberts is also someone whom we really can find no information about online. No photos, nothing. Several years ago, he was on the “new” 105.7 incarnation of WROR, back when it was first launched calling himself Jimi Roberts, but then, that just confuses people who come here, because there was or is another jock who went by “Fast Jimi” Roberts. Perhaps one of our visitors knows.
This is a short demo dubbed from cassette. Apparently, it was rescued from a production room somewhere by Contributor David Boucher. This seems to be from the period early in the days of WBMX “Mix 98.5” format, possibly 1991 or 1992.
Jim sounds GOOD. So smooth. I’d hire him in a minute!
