Marianne and the Cadillac Man; 102.9 WDRC-FM Hartford, Part 1 of 4 | November 8, 2007

John Cadillac Seville
John “Cadillac” Saville

Captured here from the DRC-FM skimmer machine is longtime market personality John Cadillac Saville. Teamed up with Marianne Harris, this was the 102.9 DRC-FM morning show for all of 2007 & 2008. DRC-FM was right at this point in transition from traditional 50s/60s/early 70s Oldies to a more 70s/80s based Classic Hits format. In this regard, the music has somewhat changed already (Eddie Money – Take Me Home Tonight with Ronnie Spector sounds conspicuously out of place with the mostly 60s & 70s heard here on part 1) but the Oldies format imaging still says “Good Time Rock & Roll”. to say that as Buckley Radio moved DRC-FM away from it’s longtime Oldies format that the station began having a bit of an identity problem is probably an understatement.

We really don’t know much about Marianne here, other than she was doing morning drive news and was Caddyman’s sidekick. John Saville is a legendary Connecticut personality, having worked at most of the major stations; WPLR, WWYZ, WKSS, WHCN, WKCI, and even WYNY New York City.

This is part 1 of a 4 CD set from the complete morning show of 11-08-07. Watch for the other parts to post here, and watch our Airchexx Classic Radio YouTube Channel for the video versions coming soon!
