Mike Raub & Friends: 1400 WSTC / 1350 WNLK Stamford/Norwalk Ends Commercial Broadcasting | Sunday, November 6, 2011

Outgoing Operations Manager Mike Raub hosts the final three hours of a two-station simulcast operation. 1400 WSTC Stamford & 1350 WNLK Norwalk, the final two stations in the former Cox Norwalk cluster, were sold to Sacred Heart University for a mere $300,000. The stations went off the air at 6 pm on November 6th, and they went on the air the next morning as another NPR outlet, broadcast from the studios of WSHU Public Radio.

A word about support
Each month, we ask for donations to support our online museum. It’s an ongoing request, because only a few ever donate, despite an audience in the thousands every day. Won’t you please help out and chip in? It goes to a worthy cause, helping to keep these classic radio recordings online and free to the user. Airchexx is a user-supported but free historical and educational website that also provides thousands of hours of listening enjoyment every day. You can make a voluntary, monthly contribution below, or look in the sidebar to the right for a link to make a one-time donation to help us defray costs. Thank you.

There are more guests and conversations about the rich history of these radio stations than can be described here. You just have to listen.
