Contributor Ellis B. Feaster at Z88.3 Orlando

One of our more recent contributors is Ellis B. Feaster. Just back from what we jokingly referred to as his “World Tour” vacation, Ellis just added this to his collection after he and I talked about this particular station.

WBSB “B104” was the highest-rated Baltimore FM CHR station for many years. Crosstown WMAR-FM 106.5 gave them one hell of a run for a few years, airing Mike Josephs “Hot Hits” format, but even they gave up after being sold. It was an 80s thing. Heres morning guy Pat Riley. The aircheck runs a bit over 8:45 and includes an almost full newscast, but because it was spliced in or perhaps the beginning edited out, we miss the news guys name. Other than the news, you get to hear commercials and spliced out music starts and endings.. all the fun things you would hear every morning. But this is 1983 and FM CHR was just getting its sea-legs… so this opens with The Beach Boys, then into the rest of the morning show.

Now, a message from our founder…

Do you think you could spare a moment? survives, literally, on the donations from people just like you. The ads you see take about 3 months to build up enough revenue just to get a small check. If you enjoy these archives, which so many out there do indeed rely upon, could you spare a little bit of cash? All of it goes to the hosting fees and miscellaneous costs of running this website. Thank you in advance.
