13 Waves sported some of the best talent in the U.S., and this 8 minute profile from 1976 showcases the talents of such names as Paul “the Morning Mayor”, Midday guy Tom Morgan, “The Chucker” (who narrates this profile), Afternoon personality John E. Walker, Night guy Mike West (WGNG Providence, WTIC-FM Hartford), Sunshine 10pm-2am and Early morning she-jock Lise.
WAVS was a great station…not as polished as the larger market satations…but a great compelling station none the less!

I think the PD is pretty proud of his contest “What would YOU like to win”…as it is a bit overdone. 😉
I made many road trips between Boston and Baltimore and I always looked forward to listening to those secondary markets like New Haven which were “feeders” to the majors like NY and Philadelphia. New Haven and Providence had some of the best-sounding radio: WAVZ, WNHC, WGNG, JB 105 (WPJB), WPRO-FM.
