By 1999, WIOQ had the CHR format pretty much to themselves, having outlasted the old 98.1 WCAU-FM “Hot Hits” format called “98 Now”, and long past the time when AM stations like WFIL fell by the wayside as big Top 40 stations.
Terry Young spent plenty of time in the big leagues by the time this aircheck was recorded. One time a member of CKLW’s Drake format and an alumn of WCAU-FM, Young’s lightning fast delivery definitely sounded great at Q-102.
