It would not do this legendary personality justice to try to describe him or his career here, so we’ll just let our visitors post their memories in the space below. Don Steele passed away some years ago, but his memory lives on in great recordings such as these.

I used to listen to Ten-Q and remember the Real Don Steele on this station, K-Earth 101, and 93 KHJ. I love how the caller requests “Stairway to Heaven” — which doesn’t get played, of course, because it’s not on the current playlist! Hahaha. But the Real Don Steele does give the guy a hundred bucks in WAM — Walking Around Money — and the caller seemed very happy about that! ☺
