WCBS-FM 101.1 New York – 50 Years of WCBS-FM Jingles Montage – 1972-2022
One of New York City’s most beloved radio stations was 101 WCBS-FM. It is an Oldies/ Greatest Hits based radio station, that launched in 1972, after it’s owner, CBS Radio, had success with the oldies format in Philadelphia at 98 WCAU-FM.
July 4 2022 marks 50 years since CBS-FM started playing New York’s greatest hits, first as an Oldies station, and as it evolved, a Classic Hits station. Because of that, here is something a little different. Over the year, WCBS-FM had some great jingles, and in this recording, you’ll hear TWENTY-TWO minutes of WCBS-FM jingles from PAMS, Jam, Frank Gari, TM, and others. How many do you remember?
