Here at Airchexx, it’s Memorial Day EVERY DAY! We look back and present to you radio exactly how it was as it was originally broadcast. Our esteemed Contributor naturally kept all the masters from the WLS Big 89 Rewind from both years that it aired. In upcoming presentations, you are going to hear the entire program – every hour – as it originally aired in both 2007 and 2008! You will also be treated to some of the comments of those who were there in person!
Here in part 2, this is the second segment of “WLS, the Music Radio years” narrated by Jeff Davis. It begins with the Big 89 Montage, a piece aired every New Year’s Eve at midnight through the end of 1985. Following that is a segment on “Music People” which WLS produced for many years by a number of WLS personalities. After that, a segment on people and places that shaped our world during the Music Radio 89 era.
In our next post, we will go back to Memorial Day 2007, and the first hour of The Big 89 Rewind from MusicRadio 89 WLS!
