Who in the world is “Banana Bill”? Well, it’s either my dreadful hearing (old age sucks) or his mumbling and that’s what it sounds like.

Here’s eight minutes of a decent quality recording of WVBF with its original Heller jingles (legendary in their own right) in the middle of it’s very successful Top 40/Album Rock era. And there’s lots of cuts in here that you might remember… or might not. A dead segue from a hard rock cut into Barry Manilow’s “Weekend In New England” was striking, even for it’s time!

REMEMBER, PLEASE DONATE!

  1. This is Benevolent Bill Freeman. He was on VBF for a few years. Mostly overnight, but in 75 he was moved to 7Pm to Mid. I also think he worked at WMMS in Cleveland.
