Curator’s Notes:

Can a radio station really re-create the magic of the 60s and 70s today and sound authentic? In the case of this aircheck, the answer is yes! From the PAMS Re-Sings to the reverb to Clarke Ingram’s one liners, all the elements that one would remember from the glorious days of AM Top 40 radio are there.

This moves FAST. It’s tightly scoped, but every element is nailed with perfection. Clarke Ingram hits the post every time and all the elements fire right when they should. This could be a university course on how the format should be executed. They sure don’t program stations like this anymore!

Clarke Ingram is a fantastic disc jockey!

  2. Absolutely fantastic aircheck. Being a 60s & 70s high energy radio fan I loved this check! Clarke ranks right up there with legends Jack Armstrong, Terry Young & Captain Whammo. See a pattern here!
    Where is Clarke now?

  3. Clarke Ingram is one of the best jocks who ever lived. Should have been in at WLS in Chicago—-or in L.A. or New York. Outright owned nights in Phoenix at KZZP in the mid-80s.

  4. Clarke has had some health issues in the past couple of years and is now retired. it looks as though he is “the last of the Mohicans” as far as doing this kind of great high-energy radio.
