WPGC 95.5 Washington – Don Geronimo FIRST SHOW – March 17 1980
For over 20 years, the team of Don & Mike were a force on the radio in the nation’s Capital. From December 1985 through April 11, 2008, the pair performed their zany radio show, first on the WAVA Morning Zoo on WAVA, they they took over afternoon show on 106.7 WJFK. But there was a time when Don Geronimo was more of a wacky Top 40 jock.
Don landed his first radio gig in Roction, Ill, when he was 15 years old, and then managed to work on air at many legendary radio stations across the country, such as WOKY Milwaukee, WKTQ Pittsburgh, WXLO New York, WCAO Baltimore, WWDC Washington, WPRO-FM Providence, WDRQ Detroit, WBBM-FM Chicago, & WLS Chicago. There were also the 20 years he spent on air with Mike O’Mera on The Don & Mike Show on WAVA & WJFK Washington. And of course, the station featured on this aircheck, 95.5 WPGC Washington. Don’s show on WPGC was tight, fast & fun. It’s a younger Donny G, but you can tell it’s his style.-Ellis
