“Smells like a ZOO in here!!”

Honoring the legend that was WPLJ… Let’s remember  the day that Scott Michael Shannon entered the CHR station 95.5 WPLJ!  Scott Shannon and Todd Pettingill would team up for 22  years, before Shannon left for mornings on WCBS-FM.

This was the start of “Mojo Radio”, the imaging sounding bold and attempting to put a fresh face on WPLJ’s CHR format. In fact, one of the imaging liners says, “we apologize for the last seven years…”. Shannon attempts to blow up what he called radio station WIMP – WIMP RADIO. Try to appreciate the dry humor.

Rather than steal this aircheck’s thunder, we present it in high quality stereo, all 38 minutes or so. Then, enjoy comparing this with Scott Shannon’s First Show on WCBS-FM, and Scott Shannon’s final show on KQLZ Los Angeles.

  1. VBaskin2010 – I'm 31 years old, i'm single, i love toys anime and cartoons. I grew up on Power Rangers even since i was 7 years old, i like different types of music except EDM and Classical. I hoping to become a radio DJ as well be a Program Director too.

Little did Scott know that he is gonna transform from the CHR era of WPLJ into the now legendary Hot AC era of WPLJ in the ’90’s, 2000’s, & today.
