This short aircheck features WRKS, 98.7 KISS FM. 98.7 Kiss was one of New York’s leading Urban Contemporary stations, from August 1981, until April 2012. You’ll hear R&B artist, Isaac Hayes. He hosted the morning show at Kiss in the mid 1990s.

In addition to his many hits, Hayes was also known as the voice of “Chef” in the TV show, South Park. You’ll also hear long time Kiss newsman Bob Slade, who had started working at the station in the 1970s, when it was 99X WXLO.

At the very end of the aircheck, you also hear a fews minutes of Vy Higgenson, who spent time on WBLS in the 1970s. -Ellis
