Max Kinkel on 101.1 WCBS-FM New York | 1994

101.1 New York WCBS-FM

In the 1980s, WCBS-FM was considered the most listened to Oldies Station in America! It had great personalities on the air. There was Bill Brown, Ron Lundy, Harry Harrison, Dick Heatherton, Don K Reed, Norm N Nite, and holding down the late night shift was “Super” Max Kinkel. If you listened to CKLW Detroit (Windsor) back in the 1970s, you may have heard Super Max on The Big 8. Max brought that CKLW energy to WCBS-FM, & kept the audience entertained with his quick wit & charming personality. -Ellis
