WIL 1430 St Louis – Ron Lundy – January 4 1963

WIL in St Louis was one of the early Rock & Roll stations in America in the 1950s. it was a power house Top 40 station in the 1960s, until it was overtaken by KXOK.

Some legendary talent worked on air at WIL… Jack Carney, Dan Ingram, and the voice heard on this aircheck, Ron Lundy.

You may remember Ron Lundy as the midday personality for most of the top 40 era at New York’s 77 WABC. Dan Ingram worked with Lundy in St. Louis at this very radio station prior to going to WABC, and convinced his program director to hire Ron.

On this aircheck you will hear a young pre-WABC Ron Lundy cranking out the hits on WIL. -Ellis
