WSM 650 Nashville – Chuck Morgan – 1981

Chuck Morgan has had a brodcasting career in Nashville one can only dream of. He was a part of the TV show Hee Haw, where he was one of the guys out in the corn field every week. He had a radio show on the nation’s premier Country music station 650 WSM, where he could be heard across most of the country.  He was named the Country Music Association’s Major Market Disc Jockey of the Year. He was hosting several country music television shows and announcing at the Grand Ole Opry. Chuck was at the top of his game… and then one day one day he walked away from it all!

In 1983, Chuck got an offer to join the Texas Rangers as the stadium announcer! Chuck was a HUGE baseball fan and jumped at the chance to be a part of MLB. As of 2023, he is still with the team, and is one of the longest running announcers in baseball!

This aircheck features Chuck during his radio days at WSM, sounding friendly & inviting on the air. The DX recording fades a bit in places, but still worth listening to! -Ellis
