WAVA 105 Washington – Don & Mike – May 1990

Back in the 1980s, morning radio was smokin’ in Washington DC. You had The Greaseman on DC101, Donnie Simpson on WKYS, Elliot & Woodside on WRQX, and Don & Mike on All Hit 105 WAVA. Don Geronimo & Mike O’Mera teamed up at WAVA in the mid 1980s, and they would shake things up on Washington radio for more than two decades. First on the WAVA Morning Zoo, then on 106.7 WJFK.

WAVA was Washington’s hit station for about 7 years and during that time they did plenty of innovative and creative things on the air.

It all came to an end on February 12, 1992, when Emmis sold the station to Salem Broadcasting, who changed the format.

Return with us to 1990, and this slice of DC radio history with Don & Mike on All-Hit 105 WAVA!
