Curator’s Notes:
New Contributor Paul DiMarco has donated some impressive airchecks. This one, and others to come, were digitized directly off the source reel recorded at the station. Which means it’s the best quality sound you’ll hear.
This is not posted anywhere else (well, except our contributor’s own page, of course), so it’s yet another Airchexx.com “World Premire” aircheck!
Now, listen to the station and it’s formatics. Out of stop sets, there’s live reads, jingles (used infrequently here) and a station produced shout. The music at this point in time reflects most of the top 40 songs you’d expect, but I suspect Wacky 102 was heavily dayparted. If you compare this to the previous Ken Gilbert aircheck, you will notice that the songs played seem to reflect more of an Adult Contemporary sound. If you were to listen to the night shows, however, Jim Kay’s show 7-midnight ROCKED. Really rocked. We’ll be looking for one of those airchecks in the next few weeks. Meantime, enjoy the sound of Glen FM Stevens on Wacky 102 FM!
