This may not count as a classic aircheck, because it is from 2018, but it does feature a classic Philly jock. Harvey Holiday spent more than a half century on air around the Delaware Valley. in the 1960s, he was on air on the outskirts of Philadelphia, at stations like WRAW,1340 in Reading, WAAT, 1300 in Trenton, & WMID, 1340 on AM in Atlantic City. In 1970, Harvey Holiday moved to WDAS AM & FM in Philadelphia. There, he was Program Director of WDAS-FM, and later became Research Director for both R&B stations. It was at that time, he started his famous “Holiday on Sunday” oldies show on WDAS-FMIn 1985, he left the station to run Golden Oldies 56 WFIL. He also worked at WUSL Power 99, 1540 WPGR and Solid Gold 102 WIOQ where he did morning drive. in 1989, Harvey moved again, this time to 98.1 WOGL, where he stayed for 29 years. This aircheck features his last day on WOGL. Harvey was not a funny jock, or one of those super big personalities. But he was a Philly guy, who sounded like he was from Philly, knew the town, and knew his music. He was probably one of the last guys who was on air in the metro in the mid 1960s, who was still on air in 2018.
