The jocks are NOT part of a morning show, rather, its Jim Jeffrey first, then Rick Reinhardt. There are two jingle packages heard here. First, there’s one that I can’t identify… the “Happy Holiday to WAVE Country” jingle sounds fairly old. Then, there’s one from a WABC package from JAM.
We know very little about this station, other than WAVE TV/HD 3 remains on the Television side these days. For listeners who remember this station, this might be a nice trip down memory lane, especially considering that the other big stations in Louisville were WAKY 79 and 84 WHAS. Great air check! For more info and air checks of WAVE 970 (and other Louisville KY. stations) check out John Quincy’s fantastic website //www.LKYRadio.com
Jim Jeffrey is my Dad..fantastic DJ!…we lost him in ’09….thanks for the clip! (Mark Jeffrey – ClearChannel Radio -Phoenix)
Actually that should be Rip Rinehart, not Rick Reinhardt.
Mark Jeffrey, sorry to hear about your dad. He was a great guy to work with.
The Happy Holidays from “WAVE Country” jingle is from the “Home Country” TV and radio music package WAVE-TV and radio shared. The stations used this music and the jingles extensively. Orion Broadcasting used the music on its other TV and radio stations, including WMT (AM) in Cedar Rapids.
