“Today’s Best New Music First, 96-TIC-FM

Comments:

Two years before PD Paul Cannon would take the station to Adult Contemporary, the intensity of this mostly Dance/R&B CHR mix is here for all to hear in a VERY short scope of a jock known as “Learjet”. By 1992, TIC-FM shared the CHR format with KISS 95.7 (WKSS) and KC-101 (WKCI 101.3) in nearby New Haven. Connecticut is a small state and markets overlap. Still, at this point in time, WTIC-FM was the heritage Top 40 station, having been in the format longer than it’s two competitors.

  1. VBaskin2010 – I'm 31 years old, i'm single, i love toys anime and cartoons. I grew up on Power Rangers even since i was 7 years old, i like different types of music except EDM and Classical. I hoping to become a radio DJ as well be a Program Director too.

Actually Robyn. LearJet is none other than the legendary Chris Leary!

      The same one!

  2. I’m aware of that, thanks. Also toward the late half of 1992, Rick “Learjet” Leary bolted for KIIS FM/L.A.. You have to understand that I didn’t write the description. Steve did.

Anyway, thank you Steve for posting this.
