If you grew up listening to Big Jack Armstrong, on one of the many stations where he worked, you may have thought… “I can do that!” But we all discovered, we could not. As a boy Terry Young thought he could be like his radio hero Jack Armstrong. In Terry’s case, he actually COULD do it. In fact, Terry Young made a whole career out of doing the motormouth bit.
Terry started his radio career in the early 1970s at WLEE in Richmond. Terry honed his act and moved to New Orleans, where he was known as “The Mouth of The South,” at WTIX, B97 WEZB, and eventually at WAIL. Terry was making was in the Big Easy, and received the call to call to go to the big time, as the nighttime flame thrower at Hot Hits 98, WCAU-FM Philadelphia. Terry became a sensation on 98, owning teens! From 1981 to 1988, Terry amassed a legion of fans in Philly.
