Tamps’s 1150 WTMP has been a long running R&B station in the market. For many years, it’s main competitor was R&B formatted WRXB. The station is still playing music on AM today (in 2021), with and FM translator in St Petersburg, as they have a classic R&B format

1150 WTMP is now in MA3 digital with an analogue component and an urban oldies format with a translator. Sister station 1470 WMGG is running all digital.
I’ve heard TMP several times here in NC on skip. Fast moving, crush & roll top-40 sound. Is it still that tight?
