Bill Mack, โ€œThe Midnight Cowboyโ€ was a texas radio legend! For many years, Mack was best known as the host ofย The Country Roads Show, (laterย U.S. 1 Trucking Show, and later still,ย Midnight Cowboy Trucking Show) the overnight country music show onย 820 WBAPย in Fort Worth. Mackโ€™s show targeted long distance truck drivers, who traveled during the late-night hours. Because ofย WBAPโ€˜s clear channel signal range at night, Mackโ€™s show was heard over most of the continental United States. Mack hosted a number of syndicated Country Music shows, and even spent years onย Sirius/XM Satellite Radio. Mack was also a songwriter. His best-known song is โ€œBlue,โ€ one ofย LeAnn Rimesโ€™ biggest hits. The song won Mack theย Grammy Award for Best Country Songย in 1997.

In this 820 WBAP aircheck, Bill Mack pays tribute to his friend Conway Twitty, on the day of his passing. He also plays an interview from Twitty. โ€“ Ellis
