In May of 2018, I was on the island of Hilo, Hawaii, when we had an earthquake, and a volcano eruption. Naturally, the first thing I do is turn on the radio! It was a little scary, but we were ok. KWXX broadcasts a Hawaiian music & Reggae format. It’s a popular format you’ll only hear in the Hawaiian islands. Here is what we heard on Hilo’s 94.7 KWXX when things seemed to be going sideways. -Ellis
