A long time ago, Contributor Mike Donovan sent in this ultra-rare recording of “The Jeff Christie Radio Network”. Confirming what appears to be the largest ego ever to grace a radio speaker, this is unmistakably the pre-talk show work of one Rush Limbaugh.
Ok, critique from a jock’s point of view… not bad, although you armchair consultants out there will take note of the live bit with the electric company. From THIS old jock’s perspective… um, calling the phone company live on a music show just doesn’t cut it as a bit (although it might have gone over better had this been a pre-recorded/produced bit with more thought put into it). Still, it’s better than just this is, that was/time/temperature. Considering this was 1971, it shows that Christie/Limbaugh had some mighty large man parts to do something like this on a live mike!
One can’t help but rate this an A+. Love him or hate him, this is Rush, before any of us knew of him. It belongs to history!
Limbaugh mentioned his electric bill being 10-12 dollars, back in 1971. I’m guessing that would be about $61 in 2015 dollars.
Yes, that’s Limbaugh. He had throat/sinus issues even back then.
