100.7 Miami WHYI Y100

Don Cox was a real wild man! Heard here in 1975 on what was arguably the hottest Top 40 station to ever hit South Florida. The man yells and screams… and that seems to be how many hit music stations were in those days.

I found that the sound of Y100 during this era was comparable to your typical AM Top 40 from the same time period. Its very exciting.
Notice that there’s only one or two commericals in a row plus a bit of Y100 imaging, then right back to music. It’s no wonder this became the Number 1 radio station in Miami. It’s also one of the few stations in America which retains the same call letters and format today!
