105.7 Framingham, 105.7 Boston, WVBF, Stereo 105

Bud Ballou WMEX

I’m starting a rumor too… except, my rumors come out true!

This is a stunningly fresh aircheck of the late, great Bud Ballou on the old “Stereo 105”. Actually, in 1973, WVBF was officially known as “Electronic Mama”. Some of Boston’s best radio memories come from this radio station. Some of Ballou’s fellow jocks were Charlie Kendall, “Big John” Gillis and Ron Robin. Robin would go on to much greater heights, eventually landing on WBZ Radio/TVYou can read about the history of WVBF HERE.

This is way too short. Although this had to be scoped for legal reasons, you’ll hear at least a portion of songs you haven’t heard in decades! You’ll be treated to a couple very rare but classic jingles. But the star of this show really is Bud Ballou. He is funny in his own way! Says he’s starting rumors!! Listen, there’s a few “LOL” moments in this you won’t want to miss. And then, Ron Robin starts his show, after we get treated to a crystal clear and clean version of WVBF’s “Electronic Mama” Top of the Hour ID. Altogether, this is a real masterpiece!

Lest we forget, this is another new in a series of airchecks from new contributor Max Power!  Many thanks!
