  1. I often wondered why I was not as impressed as others when I first heard the Pound Ridge station. I remember 97 WWDJ back when they were the former WJRZ as the flagship for Mets Baseball and followed them through the metamorphose from Country to Top 40 and their “Chipmunk” records of Cher.

    1. Jeff, some of WJRZ’s country jocks went to New York City’s WHN, which some say was the top country station of all time. Also, at 1:30, heard a WSAI ‘check, though it wasn’t one of the stations listed.

  2. This was all from an LP released by Shelby Singleton in mid 1971 called “Bootleg Top 40” – Volume I. Plain white LP cover with the title stamped on it. Distributed to Program Directors at Top 40 stations around the country back in ’71…
