Comments:

The movie “American Graffiti” featured a howling Wolfman Jack… it was THIS station, XERB 1090 in a town close to Tijuana, south of San Diego. Listening to this, you hear the Wolfman (Bob Smith) in his heyday, probably at the height of his popularity.

XERB’s powerful signal carried it up the west coast, into Canada and even Alaska. It’s said that this station was heard in parts of Europe and even Australia. Little wonder that the Wolfman became a cult figure, then full-fledged national celebrity due to the station’s (and Wolfman’s) notoriety.

We have contributor Joe Fazio to thank for donating this tape to the Airchexx collection.
