“I remember you when you were with 93 KHJ…”
Comments:
The late Charlie Tuna, captured here in a very short scope of his first show on K-Earth 101 toward the end of KRTH’s Oldies format. Today’s KRTH is 80s leaning Classic Hits. Charlie seems very happy to be on the air on this great station. He’s filling in for Joshua Escandone this particular day in 2008.
Charlie Tuna passed away silently in his sleep on February 19, 2016
Much of the Oldies format at K-Earth 101 from the mid 1980s through the end of the 1990s was centered around the personalities and formatics used at the K-Earth 101's former sister station, 93/KHJ.

This also is when KRTH was being programmed by Jhani Kaye. Keeping the station relevant while also maintaining its heritage of classic hits, high-energy DJs, solid jingles and that awesome Top of the Hour Legal ID.
Charlie Tuna was (and still is) a terrific disc jockey … and he was also a terrific game show announcer.
Steve, I lost your email address. Send it to me. JR.
Sure thing! I’ll email it to the address shown in your comment.
